  1. We're going over to a friend's house for Thanksgiving day this year, and I'm going to be of "those people" and take a version of this healthyish side. I've never really liked Thanksgiving food that much and this is a little more up my taste bud alley.
  2. I'll be making up for it though with this pie! My family makes pecan every year for Christmas and Thanksgiving, but this recipe has a couple of twists that I'm kind of excited to try out.
  3. In all seriousness, though, Blue Bell really should use this girl's video to advertise their Christmas Cookie Ice Cream because I am now going to go buy some because of it. I mean, how can you no try it after this?! Have you tried it? Is it really as good as she says?
  4. Alright, guys. You need to cancel your weekend plans, make a big pot of coffee, and slip on your sweats because have you guys heard of the One Room Challenge? It happens twice a year, and bloggers/designers take on one room to completely overhaul in 6 weeks. It's pretty incredible to watch the transformations happen. They just finished up this week and you should definitely spend some time checking it out. You can view the sponsored participants here (this is a huge event that a lot of big and small design companies and even House Beautiful get behind to help the designers and bloggers transform their space.) You don't have to be an official participant to join in the fun, though. Anyone can join as a guest and you can view them here. Some serious inspiration here, folks.
  5. We've already started listening to Christmas music around here (hello Kenny G holiday station on Pandora. Yes, I know I'm an old person, and I like it.) We're also burning some Christmas Candles and this Holiday Spruce candle is my absolute favorite so far. I also really like Balsam & Spice by Hearth & Hand, Joanna Gaines' new line at Target, and this Merry and Bright one as well.  Do you have any great Christmas candle suggestions for me? I'd definitely love to hear them!

I would love to hear from you! If you have links to your favorite Thanksgiving desserts and sides, please share them or anything else that you are loving right now!

7 Ideas for Your Leftover Turkey

I hope you've all had a happy Thanksgiving! We're actually celebrating tomorrow. All of my siblings are either spending it with their other families or working today, so we've actually had a really quiet day at my parent's house. I've gotten in a lot of FIxer Upper. Not a bad Thanksgiving for me!

Here's some ideas for you to use that leftover turkey for. I'm thinking about buying a turkey for us when we get home just so I can make some of these! A few of these call for ground turkey, deli turkey, or turkey sausage, but you should be able to substitute your leftover turkey pretty easily.

So without further adieu, here's you 7 ideas for those leftovers! I'm hoping to be back later by Saturday with some small businesses you can shop at for small business Saturday, but we'll see. Trying to soak in my family while I can! ;)

10 Inspiring Thanksgiving Tablescapes

It's hard to believe that Thanksgiving is Thursday, and Christmas is just around the corner! This year has flown by so fast. If you're in need of some inspiration for beautifying your table for your Thanksgiving dinner, I've rounded up some inspiration for you.

Lindsay, from the White Buffalo Styling Co. hosts what's called the Blogger Stylin' Home Tours and they did a Thanksgiving tablescape edition this year. (You can view the links to all of them here) All of the bloggers who participated did an amazing job, but the one's below were some of my favorite because of some of the simple and natural elements they used.

It's not too late to incorporate some of these ideas into your Thanksgiving decor, and if you go with some of the edible decorations, you can use them afterwards! That's what I like. Pretty multifunctional design. ;)

1. The Inspired Room

This tablescape by Melissa at The Inspired Room is beautiful, but what I loved most about her set up were the heads of lettuce and cabbage she used. So simple, yet so pretty.

2. Iron & Twine

I love how Michelle from Iron & Twine used leaves as place cards for her table, and the small potted plants are so pretty and can also be a take home gift. Love how she also used magnolia branches as a runner.

3. Dream Green DIY

I really love the simplicity of Carrie Waller's tablescape with her tall and short candle sticks and the squashes mixed in.

4. With Heart

I love how Jen from With Heart used apples in her tablescape as both centerpiece for the table and the plates. I love her simple white dishes and moscow mule mugs.

5. Inspired by Charm

I love, love, love, these wheat stalks wrapped in embroidery thread by Michael from Inspired by Charm. I'm definitely saving this idea for next year for our table!

6. The Chronicles of Home

These large branches placed in mason jar vases with stones for Jen at Chronicle of Home are so pretty! I love how they are a tall centerpiece, but you can still your partner across the table.

7. Craftberry Bush

This beautiful tablescape from Lucy at Craftberry Bush is elaborate, but I love how she used eggplants and a gold pen to create a simple, beautiful place card. I also love the color of the grapefruit contrasted against the eggplant. So pretty!

8. A Thoughtful Place Blog

Courtney's table from A Thoughtful Place Blog is another beautiful and elaborate table. I love her use of fruit in her tablescape, but my favorite part of her table is the brown craft paper she rolled out as a runner and also used to write her guests' names on!

9. Restless Arrow

I love how Amber from Restless Arrow used a wooden dough bowl filled with different squashes for her centerpiece. It's simple and uncluttered and just really pretty!

10. My Fabuless Life

My favorite thing about Jenn's table from My Fabuless Life? That white bowl of fruit! So pretty, and again, so simple. Just goes to show you, you don't have spend tons of time or money to have a pretty Thanksgiving table. And the best part? You can eat the fruit later! ;)
