Weekend Roundup No.1

Welcome to my first weekend round up here on the blog! What is a weekend round up you ask. Well, for me, it's going to be a collection of things I've come across during the  week in my internet browsing of Pinterest, Instagram, and blogs. I hope to offer you something you can eat/drink, something you can make, something you can read, something you can watch, and someone (i.e. a designer, decorator, blogger, etc.) you can browse. Here's to hoping I can maker your weekend a little more fun, especially with all the rain we're expecting! If you know of any great blogs I should follow or you'd like me to follow yours, leave it in the comments below!

Something you can drink:

Keeping up with the pumpkin theme as far as food goes this month are these delicious looking lattes from A Beautiful Mess. They even tell you how to make pumpkin syrup so you can make your own pumpkin spice lattes!

Something you can make:

I don't go crazy with putting pumpkins everywhere but 1 or 3 (always group in odd numbers when decorating) placed in a strategic spot can be tasteful. I think one of these carved pumpkins featured on Southern Living would look pretty as a center piece on a table or placed on your outdoor steps to create a lighted walkway up to your door like in the image below.

Something you can read:

After you get through making your pumpkins you can sit down with your coffee and read Essentialism: The Pursuit of Less (You can purchase the Kindle version here). Gwen Hefner of The Makerista recommends it on her blog and also talks about the importance of play, which we as adults sometimes forget to do. Play is good. Kids know what they're doing apparently. ;)

Something you can watch:

If reading isn't up your alley, or you just don't feel like it, you can settle in and watch one of my all time favorite shows, Burn Notice. It's only one of the best shows ever with an amazing plot line and great character development. You better be sure you find the most comfortable spot on the couch and bring a blanket and a catheter because once you start watching it you won't want to get up.

Someone you can browse:

I started following Emily A. Clark's blog recently. She is the mama to five kids and a designer. I love following her not only for her beautiful home and inspiration, but because she does doable diy's and decorates affordably. I especially liked the post featured in this picture. (you can find it here)
