I’ve been inspired lately to make a point of popping into thrift stores more through out the week to up my chances of finding items for our apartment. We want to make our home look beautiful, but we are on a budget. It can be both frustrating and fun to work within the parameters of a small budget. I love the challenge of finding things at a bargain, but I sometimes hate how long it can take. When it comes to shopping, I’m an in and out kind of girl. I want to go in, grab what I’m looking for, and get back home.
Last week I popped into Goodwill when I was dropping some things off. I’ve been looking for a set of tall lamps to go on either side of our sofa because ours are too short to be practical right now. Sets of lamps can be pretty hard to find!
I did score this copper looking charger, though. I almostput it back several of times because I wasn’t sure where I’m going to use it yet, and I am paranoid about cluttering up our apartment, but it fits well with the modern, rustic mid-century look I’m going for and I love the color. I knew that after almost putting it back 3 or 4 times and circling the store while I made up my mind that if I didn’t get it, I’d regret it. I’ve probably had “not buying” remorse more often than buyer’s remorse, so I’m learning to snag the bargains when I see them.
Do you have any thrifting tips? I’d love to hear them if you do! You can leave them in the comments below. :)
