Two more mood boards before we are caught up! I had a lot of fun putting these two mood boards together (you can see the second one when you join our mailing list by scrolling to the bottom of this post to sign up) and was inspired by memories of apartment hunting when we were first married.
A lot of them had very little space for a dining table and it often made traffic flow kind of wonkey. We were lucky enough to find an apartment that fit our huge table, but if we hadn't, a round table more than likely would have been the way to go.
Round tables are a great option in an apartment or small eating area and can help with making traffic flow easier.
I love color and mid-century modern design mixed with whimsical and classic elements, and based mood board number one off of these things. How about those awesome animal prints? They crack me up and for that reason I love them.
Since I was basing these two designs on apartment or small space living, I purposefully chose padded chairs so that they could be used as comfortable, additional seating in a living area when hosting.
One last little fun fact:
Brian Patrick Flynn, one of my favorite designers to follow on Instagram, recently finished designing the HGTV Urban Oasis Dream Home. It was fabulous. I was surprised to find out that all the furniture and most everything else in the home had been sourced from Overstock.com.
So I gave myself the challenge of creating these two mood boards entirely from there. If you haven't had a chance to check out the dream home, here's the link. Let me know which room is your favorite. Mine is the master bedroom!
