Introducing The Robert Lee Robinson House

Hey Guys! We finally took the time to clean the house so we could take you on a walk through. We wanted to share the layout, a little bit of the history that we know so far, and a few ideas we're tossing around.

Why are you calling it the Robert Lee Robinson House?

When you watch the video, you'll get a good long look at the historical marker attached to our house (my video skills aren't the greatest). This is the name on the plaque, and I know nothing about Mr. Robinson except what you see written there. I think I would have liked him, though. It sounds like he was big on hospitality as were the people we bought the house from. We are too, so I was excited for the chance to carry on the house's legacy.

When are you going to start decorating and fixing it up?

Guys, I've been doing the "I gotta pee dance" inside waiting to bring this house to life and we're hoping to get started In the next couple of months. I seriously can. not. wait. There are so many ideas in my head that it's driving me crazy, and I can't wait to bring them to life and share them with you all.

How are you going to decorate it? Are you sticking to the time period of the house?

If you followed #theshorttpickenshouserenovation, you know we kept it very simple, neutral, and classic because we were prepping it to sell. This house is going to be a whoooooole nuther ballpark. We'll be going bold with pattern and color and mixing sophisticated with whimsy while also staying classic. Yes and no to the question of sticking with the time period. We'll be honoring the history of the house while also infusing it with a fresh, modern take to keep it from feeling stuffy.

Do you have any big renovations planned?

We won't be changing the layout or spirit of the house, but we would like to open up the front entry to let more light in, the kitchen will definitely be getting made over at some point as well as the bathrooms, and we'd really like to add living space in the attic. The ceilings are 15 feet in some places up there, and it's just wasted space right now. I could cry over this.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got to go kidnap a leprechaun and steal his pot of gold. All these ideas aren't gonna pay for themselves.

p.s. If you're short on time, you can watch this movie in double time. It goes faster and sounds funny, so have fun with that!
