We have this credenza up against the wall as you walk into our apartment that serves as our dumping ground for keys and change and papers and holding the cookbooks I rarely use because, well, ya know, Pinterest. I've been wanting to style this thing ever since we moved in because it's one of the first things you see when you walk in the door and it just look blah.See what's I mean?
I wanted some little plants to put in the cubby holes but hadn't come across any planters I liked, and I will hold out 'til the end of time to find something I love instead of just settling for something I kind of like. Once i spotted these copper colored candle holders in the dollar section at Target, I knew I'd found what I was looking for.
I bought some succulents from Lowes to plant in them, and love how they turned out. I chose succulents, hoping I can keep them alive and plus, they just look good.
Everything else, except the pumpkin my sweet mother in law gave me, I pulled from stuff we already had in the apartment.
The doves that look like they're necking were on our wedding cake and I love them despite the fact they look like they're necking. ;) The platter is one we received as a wedding gift as well as the little silver salt and pepper shakers, and the other little bird is one I snagged in a local shop shortly after we moved here.
I love how the copper and white elements come together, and now I'm trying to decide if I want to paint this credenza. I'm thinking either white, which I think will be too bland for this space or a black or dark navy with some awesome new knobs, What do you think? I'm also working on a piece of motivational word art for above this space to motivate us as we leave for work each day.
I actually like looking at this piece now instead of squinting as I walk by it to pretend I don't see how boring it is. ;)
