So, I've been trying to get back to eating healthier this year, and decided to jump on the green smoothie band wagon. I love Naked's green smoothie, but am not willing to shell out the money to drink one each morning. So, of course I got on Pinterest to get an idea of how to make one for myself. ;)
My smoothie is extremely easy to make and can be whipped up in less than 5 minutes which works great when I'm trying to get out the door in the mornings and am running short on time.
First, pour 1 cup of orange juice into your blender.
Than I literally grab one handful of pre cut kale out of the bag and add it on top of the orange juice.
I run the blender on the liquify mode until the kale is as chopped an blended as it can be. I don't want to taste little kale pieces in my smoothie or have them stinking to my teeth at work. ;)
I freeze my bananas when I buy them to be used in smoothies and use them to give the smoothie a smooth texture and sweeten it. For this smoothie, I use two frozen bananas. Or if I have other frozen fruit, I will use one banana, and throw in whatever frozen fruit I have.
Add the bananas one half at a time and blend well on the liquify mode. I stir the smoothie with a spoon after it's blended to make sure there are banana chunks left.
I than pour the smoothie up in a large to go cup and rinse out the blender and I'm out the door!
