Yesterday was my dad's birthday. I wanted to have this post up yesterday, but I had to go picture hunting and I wanted this post to be special for him. My dad has always been my hero. I'm blessed to know that I have a dad who will always be there for me and love me no matter what. He's always been the one who could make me laugh, and I always felt like he gets me.
I hope you enjoy looking through these images of my dad and my family. I tried to pick images that would convey the amazing person my dad is. He's smart and funny and loves his family and almost always has his sunglasses on when he's outside the house and sometimes even in the house. He's always worked hard to give us everything we need and so much more. I'm super proud of my dad.
I'm not sure if you know this, Dad, but I used to practice walking and talking like you when I was a kid because I wanted to be just like you when I grew up. I'm still secretly proud when mom tells me "You are just like you're father!" Which happens on almost every phone call home, and we both know she means that in the best way possible of course, because I mean, we are pretty awesome after all. ;)
Thanks Dad, for always being there to cheer me up and set me straight. Thanks for the braces and the contacts and the glasses even though I hated them and lost them and refused to wear them. Thanks for working so hard so Mom could stay home and school us and for getting me through college, and just being there and caring for me when I didn't know what the heck to do with my life. Thanks for the music lessons and the skating lessons and for our rides home from Dallas listening to the Sean Hannity show. I could keep going, but I want to say thanks most of all for being a great example to me of Godly person to follow. Even though we're a thousand miles apart, you still inspire me to be a better person and to keep working hard for my dreams.
I love and miss you and I still want to be just like you when I grow up.
